INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY

Thursday, September 13th: Now we’re talking, today is certainly a day to celebrate. Today is INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY. It’s not a hard decision to celebrate today. The hard decision is what follows …. Deciding on your celebration of choice!

Milky Way Dark, Lindt’s, Ghirardelli, Three Musketeers, Twix, See’s; so many chocolates, so little time.

Now, if I were back in California, I’d be making a stop at my favorite candy shop; Halgren’s Candies in Ontario. David and Margaret Halgren established Halgren’s Candies in 1957. The store was started from the washroom and garage Mrs. Halgren’s aunt who had been living in Ontario, California since 1904. The space was used to make and sell jams, jellies and pectin candy (Citrus Delights).

My favorite ‘poison of choice’ had always been a See’s Bordeaux. Until the day I tasted a Halgren’s Bordeaux. I was hooked. Now I’m in Texas, so I’ll have to find another way to celebrate. But I don’t think I’ll have a problem. As Deanna Troi said in Star Trek: The Next Generation, “I never met a chocolate I didn’t like.”
