NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY

Sunday, September 9th: A day for those rockin’ our world, our grandparents. Today is NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY, celebrated annually the first Sunday after Labor Day. Grandparents Day has been celebrated in the US since 1978. Other countries have joined us in this celebration (although many celebrate on other dates), including: Australia, Canada, Estonia, France, Italy, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

Today is to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children and to help children become aware of the strength, information and guidance older people can offer.

If your grandparents are still alive, love and honor them today (and everyday). I’ll send my love and hugs to the heavens; thinking of you today Grandma (Beatrice) Jones and Grandma (Mildred) Cline!
