NATIONAL AVIATION DAY

Sunday, August 19th: Oh, just go fly a kite! Or, an airplane, as today is NATIONAL AVIATION DAY. Commemorated on this day (Orville Wright’s birthday) since 1939, Aviation Day celebrates the development of aviation. Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued the first presidential proclamation, designating the day on the anniversary one aviation’s founders.

Today, take a moment to appreciate the sacrifices of those contributing to our current air transportation system. (And a special shout out to my son Justin, living with aviation everyday in the Air Force!)
