D’s celebration is DELERIOUS — A DAY YOU WON’T BELIEVE: WORLD RAT DAY.

ImageWednesday, April 4th: D’s celebration is DELERIOUS — A DAY YOU WON’T BELIEVE: WORLD RAT DAY. I love to celebrate life. I look for reasons to celebrate, whether it’s routine run-of-the-mill holidays, or wacky celebrations. Most are fun and some are unique. Then there are some that are just unbelievable.

I know many people have pet rats. I’ve had many pets, some a little unusual, over the years, but never a rat. I guess they’re more popular than I ever thought. Today is the 10th anniversary of WORLD RAT DAY.

According to www.worldratday.com, “All true fans of the pet rat know that these dear, sweet animals deserve greater recognition and admiration, and that their image suffers from ignorance and unthinking prejudice. World Rat Day can be a day to win back some respect to rats through positive promotion, or at the very least, it will be a special day to offer delicious treats and fun gifts to our pets, making some rats very happy and getting some cute photographs in the process!”

This may be a day I won’t join in the celebration. I won’t be adding a pet rat to the household. (Although the nine cats may like that idea!) And I won’t be having a party for the day. But for those who do like their pet rats and think they’re the greatest pets, I wish you a ‘Happy Rat Day’. Embrace the day for your beloved critters.

*smile “World Rat Day” – never heard anything like it. Nothing stop to amaze me any longer. I suppose rat’s has a purpose too and we have all the right to claim our existence on earth. There is a double meaning to this of course – that even if we are not loved by everyone we have a right to be here too.

Thanks for your kind words … we are all God’s creations, they say (not really a believer) and that means we have to accept each other, doesn’t matter if we are a rat or cute little puppy. We all have a right to be around.

They have a day to celebrate nearly everything, now days. I’ve heard that rats are super inteligent. They’ll probably inherit the planet if something kills humankind off. Hehe.
