Wednesday, July 18th: You’re invited to a ‘818-a-second party’. July is NATIONAL HOT DOG MONTH. The Hot Dog and Sausage Council reports that during Hot Dog “Season” (Memorial Day to Labor Day); Americans consume 7 billion hot dogs. That equates to 818 hot dogs consumed every second during this period.
The Council also reports that on Independence Day, Americans will enjoy 150 million hot dogs, enough to stretch from D.C. to L.A. over five times.
Mmmmm, hot dogs! Mustard, a little ketchup, onions and relish on mine, please! What do you like on your hot dogs?
Celebrate National Hot Dog Month. Serve up some dogs with your favorite condiments, maybe a little potato salad or pork-n-beans and be part of the ‘818-a-second party’. Print out some Hot Dog Placemats for your celebration. The Hot Dog and Sausage Council has four different placemats, with puzzles, trivia, hot dogs across America, or hot dog etiquette.
